General Information

Due to the fluctuations of the exchange rate, orders with value very close to the tax-free limit may be assessed Duties and Taxes (D&T) as the currency exchange rate may vary from the order date to the customs clearance date.

Please check with your customs office to see if you can import the items, and if any additional licenses or permits are needed.

Customs Information

Effective January 1st 2020, the Norwegian government will remove the 350NOK Value Added Tax (VAT) and duty exemption for food items. All orders containing consumable products may be subject to VAT, duties, and other customs clearance fees. The customer is responsible for paying the taxes, duties, and any clearance fees. These taxes, duties, and fees are imposed upon imports, so goods ordered before January 1st can also be levied if they are cleared after January 1st 2020.

Examples of food items are foods, sweets, soft drinks, supplements, and anything else that can be consumed by humans. VAT rate ranges from 15% to 25% on most iHerb products. Custom duties and special taxes vary depending on the product. For example, supplements are subject to VAT at the rate of 15% and customs duties of 31.71 NOK/kg. There may also be additional special taxes. Examples of products subject to special taxes are chocolates and soft drinks.

Shipping

All iHerb orders are shipped out from our US warehouses to your country by Air Freight. 

The Estimated Delivery window provided by iHerb reflects most standard deliveries. However, some orders may occasionally be subject to longer transit time caused by air freight delay, Customs hold, or any other unforeseen complications outside of iHerb’s control.

You may have to pay import taxes, customs duties, or a brokerage (handling) fee for your order. These charges are separate from your shipping fee, and you will be billed directly from the carrier of your choice.

Restrictions

At iHerb, we respect the rules and regulations of Norwegian government and do our best to block Customs prohibited products from our site. However, please be aware, the following substances are not allowed to be imported into Norway: DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone), GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid), Glucosamine, Hoodia, Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxy tryptamine), PABA (4-Aminobenzoic acid), Yohimbe (Yohimbine), meat and milk products, and quantities larger than 2kg of powdered infant milk or infant food.
