Seems pretty pure.

Good stuff. Rockin' for the thyroid and helps slow down the reproduction of viruses. No alcohol is very good.

Love This Product

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 10, 2018 | Verified Purchase

I have purchased this several times now - As others have said it is great for adrenal fatigue and raising cortisol levels- It is also great for bronchial infections and EBV - You can't go wrong with this product even if you just add it to water a couple of drops a day it can only benefit your health. Instead of buying flavored water- buy this and add to water- a much healthier and tastier alternative.

Why does it taste bitter ???

Posted by Christal on Dec 07, 2017 | Verified Purchase

Licorice root is supposed to have a sweet and pleasant taste, so much so that you can actually use a licorice root tincture to make other (bitter) herbs taste more palatable. This product, however, has a bitter taste and only makes the herbal combination tastes worse. Issue with Quality Control ???

Great for adrenal exhaustion/low cortisol production

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jul 24, 2017 | Verified Purchase

I have tried other brands of liquid licorice, but always return to this one, simply because the licorice seems darker, thicker and more potent. At the same time the price is reasonable and it's alcohol-free, which I prefer, as alcohol is best avoided if one suffers from adrenal problems. Finally the taste is great - a big plus considering the restricted diet for adrenal fatigue and exhaustion can be a bit boring (minimum/no sugar for an example) in the long run. Remember that licorice is a great remedy in the case of severe adrenal fatigue; that is when you suffer from adrenal fatigue stage 3 or 4 and your adrenals no longer are able to produce enough cortisol (plus the other adrenal cortex hormones, btw). That's because licorice: 1. increases bioavailable cortisol 2. raises your blood pressure and thereby help people suffering from low blood pressure in general and/or orthostatic low blood pressure - a tell-tale sign of adrenal exhaustion. Beware, though, that science indicates that licorice in high doses (5-7 g Licorice extract) may reduce testosterone production - so for those of us (men and women) not producing enough testosterone due to adrenal fatigue or other causes, may consider keeping our doses of licorice moderate or include testosterone (or perhaps alternatively DHEA) as a part of our natural hormone replacement therapy, if we are so lucky to have found a physician willing and able to give us the natural hormones our bodies so desperately need.
